Hello again, Friends!

It’s been such a long time since I last wrote to you, outside of meal plans! My creative energy and attention has been focused on YouTube for over a year now. If you’ve found me from my YouTube channel, then welcome to my blog! I did blogging for many years before I picked up my camera and switched it over to video! Which sounds crazy now, because vlogging has been far more successful than blogging ever was.

It is the season of peace and tranquility, but for me it has been a season of stress, frustration, and busyness. My home was destroyed at the end of September when a tree fell on it, and I have since been working through the construction process. My mortgage company has been holding my insurance funds hostage and creating a mess for me, but construction continues, thankfully!

The fun part is that I finally get to start designing the finishes for the house, now that work is flowing inside. The electricians are nearly done, and plaster demo is wrapping up as well. After the first of the year, insulation will go in, then drywall can go up!

I found a gorgeous Victorian fireplace for my basement library. I’ve found tile, and now need to choose between two different tiles to complete the surround. I’m going with a traditional victorian green – which is no surprise since green is my favorite color and is featured throughout my entire house! I will share a little mock-up of the design plan for the library.

Besides house planning, I am prepping for Christmas with the family. I made a little Christmas miniature candy shop, and have started working on my advent puzzles. Miss Emily has been quite the help! She loves naps under the tree, and Jean Luc favors the chair beside the tree.

As plans are in motion for Christmas dinner, and I’m on a break from vlogging for the next week, I’ve been able to shift focus to seed starting for the 2025 garden. I wasn’t able to treat the soil for blight this fall as I had planned, due to the house damage and having to move out. So unfortunately I will still be spraying regularly with copper fungicide again this year. But…with the tree gone, it opens up more planting space for me! I’m going to relocate squash and pumpkins to the other side of the greenhouse, which will now get enough light to grow.

I wish you all a lovely Christmas, or whatever holiday you may be celebrating, and a very happy New Year! I will see you in 2025, and can’t wait to share my finished house and garden. Talk soon!

Love,
Loren
