Hello, friends! The blogs are officially combined and I’ve given this site a little face lift. Now, it’s time to bring you content!

The garden has officially been planted for its cool season/early Spring crop, and the perennials and bulbs are starting to come up all throughout my garden. And actually, since the photos below were taken, the hyacinths have come up and are in almost full bloom! I’ve even seen a couple of little tulip heads, so those should be in bloom very soon as well.

I do wish wordpress would make the collage boxes editable so I could choose my own layout and number of photos, but at least you can click on each photo to see it full size.

Perhaps the most exciting part is that my hydrangea and lilac bushes are budding out in green now! I’ve had to cover them a couple of times, and will probably cover them again tomorrow night since it’s supposed to get down to 31 degrees. Last year the hydrangea died off and came back from the roots instead of the stems in the Spring, so I had ZERO blooms the entire year from it.

A few years before that we had a freeze in the Spring and it stunted my lilac bush. I had only a few blooms on the whole bush, and I’ll not risk that happening ever again because lilac is my favorite scent in existence! I’m determined to save both plants’ blooms this year.

I can’t wait to share more with you when the plants are in bloom and the Spring veg has popped up!

Love,
Loren
